The short version
- We only collect your email address, and only so we can tell you when BodiScan launches.
- We don't collect any health information on this website.
- We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
- We never sell your email address or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
- You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing info@bodiscan.com.
1Who we are
BodiScan is a health technology project in development, run by its founders ("we", "us", "our"). BodiScan is not yet a registered company. We are based in the United Kingdom.
We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@bodiscan.com.
If we set up a company to run BodiScan, we will transfer the waitlist to that company. It will then become the controller of your data and will continue to protect it as this policy describes. We will update this page and let people on the waitlist know by email when that happens.
2What we collect
When you join the waitlist
- Your email address.
- The date and time you joined.
When you visit the website
Our hosting and database providers automatically process the technical information needed to deliver the website and keep it secure, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request.
What we don't collect
We do not collect health or symptom information through this website. Please don't send us health information by email. If you do, we will only use it to reply to you.
3How we use it, and our legal basis
UK data protection law requires us to have a legal basis for each way we use your personal data. These are the only ways we use it:
To email you when BodiScan launches and invite you to try it.
Legal basis: your consent, which you give when you join the waitlist. You can withdraw it at any time.
To run the website securely and prevent abuse, such as fake sign-ups.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the website working and secure.
We will not use your email address for any other purpose without asking you first. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
5Transfers outside the UK
Some of our providers are based in, or use servers in, the European Economic Area or the United States. When your data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations (for example, for the EEA and for US organisations certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or by the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, included in our providers' data processing terms.
6How long we keep it
- Waitlist details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until we close the waitlist. If we decide not to launch BodiScan, we will delete the waitlist within three months of that decision.
- Technical logs are kept by our hosting and database providers for a short period under their own retention policies.
7Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected if it is wrong
- have it deleted
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive it in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it. Every email we send will include an unsubscribe link.
To use any of these rights, email info@bodiscan.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before you do.
9Security
We use established providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls so that only the founders can see the waitlist. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data. If a breach affects your data and is likely to put your rights at risk, we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
10Age
The waitlist is for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please don't join. If we learn that we have collected the email address of someone under 18, we will delete it.
11Changes to this policy
We will update this page if anything changes, and the date at the top will show when it was last updated. If we make a significant change, we will let people on the waitlist know by email.
